Slotted line post

Corner / gate post

Takes the pull at corners, gates and divisions, always paired with a 45° brace in the tape axis. 245 cm is deliberate: it loads crosswise in a standard trailer, which keeps your freight cost down.
Brace strut

Two structural screws, pilot-drilled. The whole system installs with ordinary wood tools.

What is the best low-maintenance paddock fencing for horses?
A solid recycled eco-composite post system with woven tape lines. It never needs painting or impregnation, cannot rot and hoses clean. Over 15 years a 100 × 50 m paddock costs about €3,040 in this system versus €3,245 in impregnated timber once upkeep is counted, and the composite figure contains almost no maintenance at all.
Is recycled plastic fencing safe for horses?
Yes. The profiles are solid cast with no splinters, no impregnation chemicals and no nail heads on the fence line. The lines themselves are 40 mm high-visibility woven tape and electric wire at 155 cm working height, so a panicking horse meets a visible, forgiving barrier instead of a rigid rail.
How long does eco-composite fencing last compared to wood?
The material does not rot, does not absorb water and is not attacked by insects, so posts do not fail at the ground line the way impregnated softwood does. It is rated for −25 °C to +50 °C and passes a 15 J impact test at −10 °C without surface damage. The 15-year cost comparison on this page assumes zero replaced profiles; timber carries about €1,465 of upkeep and replacements over the same period.
How much does horse paddock fencing cost per metre?
Board and PVC systems cost €25 to €42 per metre in material at European retail prices. What post spacing and height does a horse paddock fence need?
This system uses 3.0 m post spacing and a 155 cm working height with two tapes and two wires, enough to read as a solid barrier to a horse. Line posts are 7 × 7 × 230 cm; corners and gates use 9 × 9 × 245 cm posts, always paired with a 45° brace in the tape axis.
Do recycled plastic fence posts crack in frost or soften in heat?
No. These are solid-cast profiles, not hollow extrusions: no water absorption means no frost splitting, and the service range is −25 °C to +50 °C. The colour is graphite dyed in the mass, so there is nothing to peel or repaint after hot summers.
Can you electrify composite fencing?
Yes, directly. The material is dielectric, so tape and wire thread through the post slots with no insulators anywhere on the line. That is the core of the slotted-post design: fewer parts, nothing to work loose, and the fence reads as one clean band.
Is recycled plastic fencing sustainable?
Each paddock puts roughly 1.5 tonnes of 100% post-industrial recyclate (HDPE/PP) back to work as fencing instead of waste, produced in Poland from a clean single-stream input. At end of life the profiles are recyclable again.
Is composite fencing hard to install?
No. The profiles machine like hardwood, so you drill, screw and cut with ordinary wood tools, and posts are set like timber posts. Every project ships as a documented build: layout plan, bill of materials, install manual and an acceptance protocol for the horse owner.
